Our diverse patient population and different cases help nurses gain experience. This exposure gives our nurses the breadth of experience to prepare them for any specialty.

No matter how busy it gets, it is always a positive environment. Everyone is helpful on even simple things like repositioning a patient, discharge, or bath, which is why I love my co-workers. I also love that the hospital is close to home so it is kind of like neighbors taking care of neighbors.

Many hospitals don't offer the great learning opportunities that I've had here at Southern California Hospital Culver City. The emergency department has allowed me to work with many different types of patients from chest pain to ankle sprain, from the emergent to the urgent… I get it all. Working alongside other colleagues with varied experience, as well as doctors of many specialties, also has allowed me to hone my critical thinking skills.

The emergency department at Southern California Hospital at Culver City is a fast-paced work environment. Having other helpful staff to support you is critical. Everyone is so approachable and close by to assist if needed.

I've been at Southern California Hospital at Culver City for 20 years because it's a great place to work. We take care of each other as well as our patients. It's an easy place to work because the people care about you and the work that you do. It really is the people that make the difference!

Working at Southern California Hospital at Culver City is a great place to fast-track your experience and learn a lot of new things. We get great training to get us up to speed. I started transporting patients and have worked my way into monitoring where I am responsible for monitoring up to 43 patients at a time. I couldn't have done it without such great education, as well as a professional and joyful work environment where others support me.

Everyone helps you out here. Even when its hectic, my coworkers reach out and ask if I need help. Everyone is ready to help me get medical equipment or help with a patient. Nothing is too small a task for anyone here.

I love the 'Grow Your Own' program, which provides nursing education and skills development to help us grow professionally as nurses. I gained the skills needed in my career to move from the behavioral health unit to the emergency department.

In a fast-paced environment like the ED, having the right resources and equipment can make all the difference. Here at Southern California Hospital at Culver City, we have a very supportive director that gets us what we need to quickly help our patients, including wireless EKG, ultrasound-guided IV, and computers with our own scanners. We are also provided support to keep our patients and staff safe.

We are always well supported in our emergency department with security and great supervisors to meet our clinical and non-clinical challenges. Difficult emergencies are easier when you work with great people.

I've worked at Southern California Hospital at Hollywood for a year now, and I'm impressed with the compassion of my fellow nurses, the camaraderie, and the opportunity for growth. When I started here, everyone was warm and welcoming, and quick to support me. The nurses' aides provide critical information and support to ensure the patients receive the best care. And, I am able to grow in my career and am currently precepting new graduate nurses. This all has a positive impact on our patients and the nursing team.

Southern California Hospital at Hollywood is a great place to work because you get to know everyone by name; we help each other out. When I'm busy with one patient and need to take care of another patient, someone always steps in to help.

It's important to support each other when you work with critically ill patients in the ICU. Here everyone helps each other without even being asked, which helps to ease those stressful days. Supervisors and charge nurses are always there to support us, even with the small things like getting equipment or helping get a patient admitted.

We help each other out and focus on what is best for patient care through open communication, rather than whose 'job it is.' For example, if a certified nurse assistant is busy and a patient needs help with equipment or help standing up… we are all ready to help! I've especially noticed have respectful communications are between nurses, physicians and physicians' assistants.

It's the people who make Hollywood a great place to work. Patients always need help to keep safe, get out of bed without falling, and keeping clean. It takes a team to make it all happen. You don't feel alone here so it reduces the stress.
